What is Braces or Orthodontic Treatment?

Braces or orthodontic treatment is use to correct the following dental issues:

    • Crooked teeth.
    • Crowded teeth.
    • Gapped teeth.
    • Malocclusion (issues with the way your teeth fit together).

In several cases, teeth may be straight, but the upper and lower jaws do not meet properly. These jaw or tooth alignment problems may be inherited or could be a result from injury, early or late tooth loss, or thumb sucking.  Making teeth straight can be done in different ways. The kind of orthodontic treatment you have will depend on your preference and the options provided by your dentist or orthodontist.

    Dental Consideration:

Braces wearers are susceptible for building tartar, plaque, gingivitis and cavities if you do not maintain a good proper oral hygiene with brushing twice a day using soft brush, fluoridated toothpaste, flossing in between teeth, avoid sticky, sweet food and drinks and visit your dentist regularly for professional dental cleaning.
