    Pregnancy and Tooth Extraction

There are lots of cases of pregnant mother who suffers dental problems such as severe toothache and facial swelling due to infection. In these cases, immediate treatment needs to be done like tooth extraction, because if left untreated the infection may harm the life of the expecting mother and the unborn child. The agony of having toothache also directly affects the mother and the fetus.

Dental Consideration: Pregnant mothers need not to worry when planning for tooth extraction because according to a study published in a recent issue of The Journal of the American Dental Association that it is safe to undergo dental treatment with local anesthesia for pregnant women.  Also the dentist will prescribe antibiotics and pain killers that are safe for both mother and the baby.
