Facts and Proper use of your Toothbrush
Toothbrush is a main part of our daily oral hygiene together with toothpaste, Floss and Mouthwash. But did you know which kind of toothbrush should we use and the proper way of using it? In general we can use soft bristled toothbrush, hard bristles or even medium might cause harm to your teeth enamel and gums. Also when brushing be mindful not to put too much pressure on your toothbrush to avoid creating damage due to excessive brushing, instead use a gentle brushing stroke hard enough to clean the film of your teeth. Replace your toothbrush every 3 to 4 months or sooner as you noticed the bristles are already frayed, because a worn out toothbrush won’t clean your teeth well. After brushing make sure to rinse your toothbrush with water properly to wash away remaining debris on it. Store it upright and allow it to air dry. Do not cover or put it in a closed container as it may acquire growth of unwanted bacteria due to moisture.
Dental Considerations:
Manual and powered toothbrush are both effective when it comes to cleaning your teeth, depends on which one you are comfortable to use. You may also seek an advice from your dentist which type of toothbrush is suitable for your dental needs. Don’t forget not to share your toothbrush with anyone to avoid cross contamination and or spreading bacteria. Remember to brush your teeth twice a day with fluoridated toothpaste for at least 2 minutes and have a regular visit to your dentist.
