    We often forget that our mouths are part of our digestive system and your dental health is one of the most important markers of your overall health. And yes brushing twice a day and flossing your teeth will help keep cavities away, but watching what you eat will increase your possibility of avoiding them. Keep in mind that the food we choose and how often we eat them can affect our general health and dental health. Tooth decay occurs when plaque come into contact with sugar in the mouth causing acid attack on the teeth. Therefore you may possibly be at risk in developing tooth cavities if you consume too much sugar filled food and beverages and snacking non-nutritious foods.

    Healthy Diet is great not only for your dental health but also good in the entire body health. So choose the healthier ones, think before you eat and drink.  Here are some tips for a good dental health:

    • Avoid food and beverages with high sugar content.
    • Limit snacking non-nutritious food.
    • Drink plenty of water.
    • Brush your teeth using fluoridated toothpaste twice a day.
    • Floss in between teeth once a day.
    • And visit your dentist for a regular checkup and dental cleaning.
